Dear Students, Parents, Staff, and Community Members,
My name is Dan Ackland, and I am excited to be a part of the USD 365 community. I just wrapped up four years as principal of St. George Elementary in USD 323 Rock Creek. Prior, I spent 3 years in USD 308 Hutchinson as an elementary principal, and 8 years teaching 5th grade in USD 262 Valley Center. My wife, Michelle, works for USD 290 Ottawa. My son, Caden, and daughter, Laken, attend USD 365 schools as well.
I am excited about the coming school year and hope you are too. With teamwork between staff, students, parents, and the USD 365 community, we are confident that GES students will have a successful learning experience. Please take an interest in your child’s learning, support the classroom teacher, and become involved in your child’s classroom. I encourage every parent to seek opportunities to become an active participant in our school and activities. Your efforts will be greatly appreciated by the entire student body and the teachers.
I serve as your principal. My office door will always be open to staff, students, and parents. Please feel free to drop in and visit. If you feel more comfortable scheduling a time, please call the office and we can schedule a convenient time for you to visit. I look forward to meeting each of you and getting to know you as we work to make GES the best place for student learning in Kansas.

Hello!
I am Chrystal Wittman. I have been in USD 365 for the last 12 years, progressing from volunteer, substitute, paraprofessional, then first grade teacher in 2017. While I loved being a teacher, I wanted to positively impact an entire school of students. This is my first year as assistant principal, I am enjoying the new role and continuously learning. Outside of school, I enjoy spending time with my family and watching my children’s activities.
I love education! I am passionate about supporting our students and staff to create the best learning environment. The educators at GES are dedicated to our students’ success both in and out of the classroom. Our community is a huge part of student success, we welcome volunteers and community collaborations. Please reach out if you would like to volunteer or have a collaboration project in mind. Together, we can build a future where learning is celebrated, creativity flourishes, and every student is empowered to succeed.
